The Caribou Raceway Park
located in Quesnel BC is to the mini national road racing series
like Valencia is to the MotoGP series: its where every rider wants
to win. After only seeing the track last year and riding around
it on their mountain bikes, both Ayrton and Aiello were excited
to try the circuit on their GP3-A Replica mini moto pocket bikes. Day one of practice would be a wet one with Ayrton Tyrrell testing
the durability of his new Tap-Moto leather suit going down twice
in different sessions. The weather would play havoc with everyones
practice session and not leaving the Motordirex Mini Moto boys feeling
confident on the new track. Like at Tradex the week before, the national 7 to 10 class allows
all makes of bikes in 2 or 4 stroke configurations. This would put
a mix of four 2-strokes and three 4-stroke bikes on the track. Qualifying would have the Motordirex Mini Moto duo starting 4th
and 5th in not the best racing conditions. Race one ended with the Tap-Moto sponsored Motordirex team taking
4th and 5th with the 69 bike losing out to Teagan Edie for 3rd by
inches. Aiello on his 26 machine would ride a lonely race not being
challenged at and bringing it home. The finishing positions would remain the same for race two with
the 7 bike field spread out throughout the track. The Motordirex boys found the Caribou Raceway Park a lot faster then what they have been used to racing in the regional series, but the enjoyed the track and look forward to going back in 2009. |
