Aiello Theys Takes First Victory of 2010

After missing Round 2 of the PCMRC
2010 season due to logistical issues, Motordirex Mini Moto was excited
to back at Greg Moore Raceway in Chilliwack, British Columbia, for
Round 3.
The first practice of the day was stopped prematurely due to rain,
which caused both Motordirex boys to fall of their GP3 replicas.
The rain continued postponing the pocket bike race until later in
the day. So, the boys enjoyed watching the carnage that unfolded
during the Scooter class and Thunder class events.
A racing family friend, Chad Johnson, enjoyed his first scooter
race ever taking 3rd in the slippery conditions.
As the rain stopped and the track dried up, it was time for the
pocket bike open event putting both air-cooled and water-cooled
bikes on track at the same time. A staggered start would have the
air-cooled class lining up 20 feet behind the H20 boys.
At the drop of the flag the 27 bike of Theys jumped ahead of team
mate Ayrton Tyrrell and Kaden Reid on his Honda CRF50. Tyrrell would
follow in 2nd eventually being passed by Reid. Neither Tyrrell or
Reid was able to challenge Theys as he rode in convincing style
to victory, his first of 2010 and 2nd ever win. When asked how he
was going so fast he replied, “you have to get your knee down”.
Round 4 of the 2010 PCMRC season takes place on July 4th. See you
then!
