May 4th was not only the
first race of PCMRC, but the first time the Motordirex Mini Moto
team would ride the 2008 GP3-A Replica. Testing and the motor break-in
was scheduled for April 27th at Western Speedway in Victoria, BC,
but a soaked track didn’t allow any track time.
Ayrton and Aiello Hall were the only riders in the 7-10 class for
Round 1 which under the rules doesn’t count for scoring. This wasn’t
a concern since the bike hadn’t been ridden pervious but the boys
were still allowed to run the scheduled laps.
The 26 bike of Aiello was having issues staying lit for first “race”
in which he didn’t cross the finish line. Race two was a different
story with the 26 bike sorted to finish the race. Ayrton’s 69 machine
ran flawlessly all day as both riders got used to the new bikes.
Both boys expressed how much faster the GP3-A is over last seasons
MT-A2 mini moto.
